I recently discovered that my short story He Gave Me the Milky Way (Deep Fried) has been shortlisted for the 2017 Hysteria Writing Competition! I am absolutely thrilled. Being shortlisted means that my story will be published in Hysteria 6, which is this year’s Hysteria Writing Competition anthology. It also means that I am in with a shot (although I think it’s very unlikely) to win the overall competition in my category!
The Hysteria Writing Competition is run by the Hysterectomy Association each year, giving female writers the opportunity to write about a subject that is relevant and of interest to women. It has three categories – short story, poetry and flash fiction, which have now each been narrowed down to their Top 10 entries. We’ll find out the overall winners at the end of the November, when Hysteria 6 is released. I can’t wait to read the other pieces. 🙂

Please do have a click around the Hysteria site and have a look at past entries, interviews etc; I’ve seen some amazing stuff there which just makes me even more excited to be shortlisted!
